Welcomer

Welcomer sends a message when a new member joins your server.

Use it to greet members, explain next steps, link rules, or point them to verification.

What Welcomer can include

Depending on your version, Welcomer may support:

  • Welcome channel
  • Plain text message
  • Embed message
  • Member mentions
  • Server name variables
  • First-time join behavior
  • Custom styling through Embed Builder-style controls

Configure Welcomer

  1. Open https://lockieapp.ca
  2. Select your server.
  3. Open the Welcomer plugin.
  4. Choose the welcome channel.
  5. Write the message or embed.
  6. Save changes.
  7. Test with a safe join event or preview if available.

Message ideas

A good welcome message should tell members what to do next.

Examples:

  • Read the rules.
  • Verify in a specific channel.
  • Pick roles.
  • Open a ticket for help.
  • Check announcements.

Permissions

Lockie needs:

  • View Channel
  • Send Messages
  • Embed Links, if using embeds

Best practices

  • Keep the welcome message short.
  • Link only the most important channels.
  • Avoid tagging too many roles.
  • Use an embed if you need structure.
  • Update the message when your server onboarding changes.

Troubleshooting

If the welcome message does not send:

  • Confirm Welcomer is enabled.
  • Confirm the channel is selected.
  • Confirm Lockie can View Channel and Send Messages.
  • Confirm Lockie has Embed Links if the message is an embed.
  • Check whether the join happened before the setting was saved.
