Disabling Maintenance Mode

Disabling Maintenance Mode restores normal access after an incident, update, or planned lock period.

Disable from Discord

Use:

txt
/maintenance-disable

Depending on your version, Lockie may show a Components v2 style confirmation or progress message while channels are being restored.

Unlock individual channels

If only some channels were locked, or if you need to restore a specific channel manually, use the matching unlock command:

txt
/channel unlock-everyone
/channel unlock-role
/channel unlock-other

Use the same lock type that was used to lock the channel.

What Lockie does

During improved maintenance disable flows, Lockie is designed to:

  • Unlock channels faster.
  • Restore remembered permissions where possible.
  • Log the action for staff review.
  • Show clearer progress while the action runs.

After disabling

Check:

  1. Members can send messages in public channels.
  2. Staff-only channels are still private.
  3. The lock role did not keep extra restrictions.
  4. Category permissions still look correct.
  5. Logs show Maintenance Mode was disabled.

If channels are still locked

Try this checklist:

  • Use the matching /channel unlock-* command.
  • Check category overrides.
  • Check whether another role denies Send Messages.
  • Confirm Lockie still has Manage Channels.
  • Confirm nobody manually edited permissions during maintenance.

Best practices

  • Disable Maintenance Mode before removing or changing the lock role.
  • Review logs after a large maintenance action.
  • Keep staff aware of when channels are reopened.
  • Avoid repeated enable and disable actions during Discord rate limits.
