Spam Detection
Spam Detection helps reduce message floods, repeated text, mention spam, link spam, and other disruptive posting patterns.
What it helps with
Spam can look like:
- Rapid messages from one member
- Repeated words or phrases
- Repeated links
- Large mention bursts
- Copy-paste floods
- Raid-style channel flooding
Lockie can detect these patterns, apply the configured action, and post a protection log so staff can review what happened.
Configure Spam Detection
- Open https://lockieapp.ca
- Select your server.
- Open the Anti Check or Protection section.
- Enable Anti-Spam.
- Choose the action you want Lockie to take.
- Set your protection log channel.
- Review exempt channels and roles.
Recommended actions
Start carefully:
| Stage | Suggested action |
|---|---|
| First setup | Log only or delete only |
| After testing | Delete and timeout |
| During active raids | Stronger actions if your staff team approves |
Best practices
- Keep a dedicated protection log channel.
- Exempt staff channels where testing happens.
- Exempt channels where fast posting is expected, such as bot command channels or counting channels.
- Review logs before increasing action severity.
- Combine Anti-Spam with slowmode during high-traffic moments.
Troubleshooting
If Anti-Spam is not triggering:
- Make sure the module is enabled.
- Make sure Lockie can View Channel and Manage Messages.
- Check whether the channel or role is exempt.
- Confirm the action is not set to disabled or log only.
If Anti-Spam triggers too often:
- Add safe channels.
- Exempt trusted roles.
- Lower the action severity while tuning.
- Check logs to see which pattern caused the action.
