Dox Detection
Dox Detection helps reduce the risk of members posting sensitive personal information.
Overview
Doxxing can include phone numbers, addresses, government IDs, or other highly sensitive details. Lockie can detect common patterns, take action, and produce a log entry so staff can respond quickly.
Configure Dox Detection
Dox Detection is configured on the Dashboard:
Typical steps:
- Open your server in the Dashboard.
- Go to the Protection or Anti Checks section.
- Enable Anti-Dox.
- Configure what happens when doxxing is detected (for example, delete, timeout, or both), if available.
- Make sure your protection log channel is configured.
See: Dashboard Guide
How it works
- Detection: Lockie checks messages for patterns that commonly represent sensitive information.
- Actions: Lockie can remove the content and apply moderation actions based on your configuration.
- Logging: Staff logs show what triggered the action so you can tune your settings.
Best practices
- Keep protection logs enabled so staff can audit actions.
- Exempt staff roles and private staff channels if they occasionally share sensitive info for legitimate reasons.
- Set clear server rules about privacy and doxxing.
Limitations
- Doxxing content can be formatted in many ways. No detector is perfect.
- False positives can happen. Tune with allowlists, thresholds, and safe channels where appropriate.
